Congratulations on the UKRI AI & Robotics Research Awards shortlisting — a national finalist for Best Industry Collaboration is a significant recognition, and it follows the Best Demonstration win from last year. The momentum behind Versatile RobotX is clearly building.
I'm Rob Moore, a corporate photographer based in Essex. As the company moves through its first investment round and the Innovate UK Launchpad programme, the visual record of what Versatile RobotX is building becomes increasingly important for audiences beyond the robotics community: investors, growers, policy audiences, and the national press who covered the BBC and ITV features.
Agricultural robotics is one of the most visually compelling areas of deep tech — autonomous dual-arm mobile robots operating in real farm environments, soft fruit harvesting at scale, the people behind the engineering. Most deep tech companies at this stage have imagery that looks like university lab documentation. The photographs that go into an investment memorandum, a UKRI awards submission, or a Farmers Weekly feature need to work differently.
I work with early-stage deep tech and agritech companies on exactly this transition: research documentation to investor-grade visual identity. University of Essex in Colchester is local to me — I'd welcome a short conversation about what's coming up for Versatile RobotX.
